Concordia Gains Invite to 2014 NWCA Division III National Duals

The Concordia wrestling team, has been invited to participate in the 2014 NWCA Division III National Duals on Jan 11th and 12th in Des Moines, Iowa. This invite-only tournament features the top NCAA Division III wrestling programs.

Selection to the tournament is based on returning national placewinners and overall team strength from teams who apply for entrance to the 2014 tournament.

Champions crowned in five divisions at NWCA/Cliff Keen Multi-National Duals in Springfield, Ill.

MANHEIM, PA – With 64 top teams entering the 2013 NWCA/Cliff Keen Multi-Divisional National Duals, five emerged as champions following Saturday afternoon’s finals. One of the most exciting finals match-ups came at the NAIA division where a fall at the heavyweight class determined the match.

St. Cloud State Wins NWCA DII National Duals Championship!

The #4 ranked St. Cloud State University wrestling team (11-0, 1-0 NSIC) continued its impressive run by claiming first place at the 2013 NWCA DIvision II National Duals on Jan. 13 in Springfield, Ill.

The Huskies earned their second consecutive NWCA National Duals crown with a thrilling 17-15 win over #7 Notre Dame (Ohio) in the championship match at the Prairie Capital Center in Springfield, Ill. SCSU earned its berth in the title bout with a 27-9 victory over #17 UW-Parkside in the semifinal round match in the morning of Jan. 13.

Auggies go 1-2 at NWCA D-III National Duals

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Augsburg College wrestling team went 1-2 in its competition at the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III National Duals on Saturday at the Prairie Capital Convention Center.

Augsburg (3-2 overall), ranked No. 4 in the latest NWCA Division III national poll, opened with a 24-12 victory over No. 26-ranked Springfield (Mass.), but fell 19-15 to No. 5-ranked Centenary (N.J.) in the quarterfinals. The Auggies were then edged 22-20 by Johnson and Wales (R.I.) in the consolation quarterfinals.
