St. Cloud State places six wrestlers on NSIC Winter All-Academic list

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – St. Cloud State Athletics had 43 student-athletes, including six wrestlers, earn 2023-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Winter All-Academic recognition, as announced by the league on Thursday morning. In addition, 31 Huskies earned Team of Excellence recognition.

Women’s Swim & Dive led the way with 16 recipients, followed by Women’s Basketball’s 10. Wrestling and Track & Field each had six recipients, and Men’s Basketball had five.

Minnesota State Has Seven Wrestlers Named to NSIC Winter All-Academic Team

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — A total of 108 Minnesota State student-athletes, including seven wrestlers, have been named to the NSIC All-Academic Team for their efforts in the classroom.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher. Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen, and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible), and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.

Augustana Lands 14 Wrestlers on NSIC Winter All-Academic Teams

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana athletics garnered 98 student-athletes, including 14 wrestlers, on the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic honors list for the winter sports season. Announced three times a year, Augustana had 97 student-athletes named to the Fall All-Academic team, bringing the 2023-24 season total to 195 Vikings.

“To have nearly 100 student-athletes recognized for their academic distinction is so impressive,” said Augustana Vice President for Athletics Josh Morton. “Along the way, our winter sports also took home another NSIC Championship trophy as we look to win our 3rd straight NSIC All-Sports Award”

Academic All-NSIC Announced; 8 Mustang Wrestlers Earn Honors

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has announced the 2022-23 Winter All-Academic team, with 55 Southwest Minnesota State University student-athletes being recognized during the winter season.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team, members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher, while to be named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher.

Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and in at least their second year of competition at their current institution (true freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible).

Three Dragon Wrestlers Named to NSIC’s Winter All-Academic Team

BURNSVILLE, Minn. — 32 MSUM student-athletes have been named to the NSIC’s winter All-Academic Team. Of that group, 18 Dragons were honored as part of the NSIC’s All-Academic Team of Excellence.

The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced that 766 student-athletes have earned NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2022-23 winter athletic season; 457 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, while 309 earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.

Nine Augustana Wrestlers Selected For Winter All-Academic Teams

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana athletics is the NSIC’s leader with 80 student-athletes, including nine wrestlers, named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic honors for the winter sports season. Announced three times a year, Augustana has maintained its spot atop the conference in both academic and athletic prowess. The 2022-23 total when combined with fall sports, brings AU’s tally to 177 student-athletes.

“Our winter sport student-athletes continue to carry the tradition of excelling in the classroom and performing strong in competition,” Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. “Their success in all their facets of their life at Augustana is part of the experience on our campus.”
