Augsburg remains #1 while UW-Eau Claire Jumps from 9th to #3

Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released the first regular season Division III Men’s Coaches rankings. These include the team tournament poll and national and regional individual rankings.

Augsburg (89.5 pts) remains solidly in first place ahead of archrival Wartburg (54.5 pts). UW-Eau Claire is making the massive jump from 9th to #3 (39.5 pts). Completing the Top Five are #4 UW-La Crosse (39 pts) and #5 Alvernia (38 pts), who each slide up one spot.

In the individual rankings, Augsburg leads the country with three top-ranked wrestlers (141, 184, 285). Wartburg has two (174, 197), while Johnson & Wales (125), UW-Eau Claire (133), McDaniel (141), UW-Lacrosse (157), and Alvernia(165) each have a single wrestler at the top of their respective weight class.

Augsburg Starts Season in Familiar Position atop the NWCA Division III Men’s Coaches Poll

Manheim, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their first set of rankings for the Division III Men’s Coaches Rankings. These include the Team Tournament Poll and both the individual national and regional rankings.

Starting the season in the top spot is Augsburg (75.5 pts) who is coming off yet another national championship season. Filling out of the remainder of the top five is #2 Wartburg (44.5 pts), #3 Baldwin Wallace (43.5 pts), #4 Johnson & Wales (39.5 pts), and #5 UW-La Crosse (38.5 pts)

In the individual rankings, Augsburg starts the season with three top-ranked wrestlers while Wartburg has two. Johnson & Wales, UW-Eau Claire, Baldwin Wallace, UW-Lacrosse, and Alvernia each have a single wrestler at the top of their respective weight class.

NWCA Division III Poll – February 15, 2023

Manheim, PA – On Wednesday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their sixth and final set of regular season Division III Men’s Coaches Tournament and Dual Polls, as well as national and regional individual rankings.

Wartburg continues to sit at the top of both the Tournament and Dual Top 25 polls. The tournament poll top five remains unchanged and is comprised of #1 Wartburg (69.5 pts), #2 Johnson & Wales (53 pts), #3 Augsburg (48 pts), #4 Baldwin Wallace (47 pts), and finally #5 Loras (34.5 pts).

NWCA Division III Poll – February 2, 2023

Manheim, PA – On Thursday the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their fifth set of regular season Division III Men’s Coaches Tournament and Dual Polls, as well as national and regional individual rankings.

Wartburg now sits at the top of both the Tournament and Dual Top 25 polls. This following their 22-14 upset win over then #1 Augsburg. The tournament poll top five is now comprised of #1 Wartburg (71 pts), #2 Johnson & Wales (51 pts), #3 Augsburg (48pts), #4 Baldwin Wallace (45.5 pts), and finally #5 Loras (34 pts).

Wartburg (12-1) is now the new #1 jumping up from third while #2 Augsburg (8-1), #3 Johnson & Wales (26-3), #4 UW-La Crosse (13-3), and #5 Baldwin Wallace (15-2) round out the top five.

NWCA Division III Poll – January 18, 2023

Manheim, PA – On Wednesday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their fourth set of regular season Division III Men’s Coaches Tournament and Dual Polls, as well as national and regional individual rankings.

There has been quite the shake-up in both the team and tournament polls following the USMC/NWCA National Dual Meet Championship. In the tournament poll, #1 Wartburg (84.5 pts) and #2 Johnson & Wales (53 pts) stay in the top two positions, with #3 UW-La Crosse (41 pts) jumping up from sixth. #4 Baldwin Wallace (42.5 pts) trades spots with #5 Stevens Institute (34 pts) to round out the top 5.

The dual poll has recently crowned National Dual Champions Augsburg in the top spot with a perfect 6-0 record. Johnson and Wales (18-1) moves up to 2nd place after their national runner-up finish in Louisville to now #1 Augsburg. #3 Wartburg (8-1), #4 UW-La Crosse (11-2), and #5 Baldwin Wallace (12-2) complete the top 5.

NWCA Division III Poll – January 3, 2023

Manheim, PA – On Tuesday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their Division III Men’s Coaches Tournament and Dual Polls, as well as national and regional individual rankings.

Wartburg takes the top spot in the Dual Poll, followed by #2 Augsburg, #2 UW-La Crosse, #4 Johnson & Wales, and #5 North Central. Following Wartburg in the Tournament poll’s top 5 are #2 Johnson & Wales (38.5 pts), #3 Augsburg (41 pts), #4 Stevens Institute 39.5 pts) and #5 Baldwin Wallace (37 pts).

The individual rankings have two new top-ranked individuals, with Michael Petrella (Baldwin Wallace) taking over the top spot at 149 and Mike Ross (Johnson & Wales) jumping to #1 at 174. Warburg (141 & 157) and Johnson & Wales (125 & 174) lead the nation with two top-ranked wrestlers. Other programs with a #1 ranked wrestler are North Central, Baldwin Wallace, Rhode Island, Loras, Coast Guard, and Olivet.

Manheim, PA – On Wednesday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their Division III Men’s Coaches Tournament and Dual Polls, as well as national and regional individual rankings.

Wartburg takes the top spot in each of the team polls and is joined in each by Augsburg, Stevens Institute, UW-La Crosse, and North Central.

NWCA Division III Poll – November 16, 2022

Manheim, PA – On Wednesday the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released their first Regular Season Division III Men’s Coaches Poll. Wartburg stays in the top spot with Augsburg still in second.

The rest of the top five saw changes as UW-La Crosse slides up two spots to 3rd pushing North Central down to 4th. Stevens Institute moves to 5th from 7th place.

In the preseason rankings, Wartburg had three top-ranked wrestlers. They now have four at 141, 149, 157, and 174. Other programs with a #1 ranked wrestler are Washington & Lee, North Central, Rhode Island, UW-Whitewater, UW-La Crosse, and Olivet.
