Youth teams to dual prior to Gophers vs. Hawkeyes match

NYWA, Maple River Youth Wrestling, and Centennial Youth Wrestling are excited to announce the 1st Annual King of the North vs. King of the South youth team competition. The qualifying K-6th grade team tournaments will be held in Maple River HS (South) on January 14th, 2023, and Centennial HS (North) on January 15th, 2023. The top team from each event qualifies to wrestle each other before the Minnesota Gopher and Iowa Hawkeye dual on February 3rd, 2023, at Maturi Pavillion in Minneapolis.

NYWA to host a State Tournament in 2021

Northland Youth Wrestling Association lost much of their 2020 season to the pandemic, including their flagship state tournament. The obstacles for holding a typical NYWA season in 2021 have been nearly impossible to overcome. So, despite the challenges, NYWA has figured out a way to provide an opportunity for youth wrestlers to compete this season – an NYWA State Tournament Open.
