SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Saint John’s stumbled out of the gate but fought back to end the first day of the NWCA/Cliff Keen Division III National Duals with a 2-1 record on Saturday, Jan. 7, in Springfield, Ill. The seventh-ranked Johnnies fell by one point to No. 24 Mount Union of Ohio (20-19) before defeating No. 25 Centenary of New Jersey (32-11) and No. 9 Elmhurst of Illinois (26-18).

Johnnie Wrestling Primed for This Weekend’s National Duals
The seventh-ranked St. John’s wrestling team travels to the Illinois state capital for the 2012 NWCA/Cliff Keen Division III National Duals this Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7-8. The elite two-day tournament will be held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield. Johnnies Claim Two Champions, Finish Fourth at Citrus Invite
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Sixth-ranked Saint John’s finished fourth out of 16 teams at the two-day Citrus Invitational on Friday, Dec. 30, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A pair of Johnnies, senior Dustin Baxter (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley) and junior Mitch Hagen (Sunburg, Minn./Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg), won their respective weight classes.
