SDSU Schedule Finalized For 2023-24

Seven home dates, including home duals against five Big 12 Conference opponents, highlight the 2023-24 schedule for the South Dakota State University wrestling team.

The Jackrabbits, who sent a school-record eight wrestlers to the 2023 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, open the home slate Nov. 17 by hosting the Dakota Showcase at Frost Arena. The four-team dual event also will feature in-state programs Augustana, Dakota Wesleyan and Northern State.

To close out the weekend, SDSU will host the day-long Daktronics Open on Nov. 19.

The remainder of the first two months of competition also will be a mix of tournament and dual competitions. In tournament action, the Jackrabbits are scheduled to compete in the season-opening Bison Open (Nov. 11), as well as make return trips to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 1-2) and the Soldier Salute (Dec. 29-30).

Huskies Wrestling announces 2023-24 schedule

St. Cloud State set to wrestle nine conference duals, two dual tournaments and three opens

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Wrestling has announced their 2023-24 schedule. The Huskies are set to wrestle nine Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference duals, two dual tournaments and three opens throughout the upcoming season. Beginning their competition schedule with the traditional Black and Red Classic on Thursday, November 2 at Halenbeck Hall, the Huskies will compete in a pair of opens before starting their dual schedule at the Drury Duals on November 16 in Springfield, Missouri.

Following the Black and Red on November 2, the Huskies will travel to the Yellowjacket and Luther Opens on November 4 and 11 respectively. Dual season begins in Springfield, Missouri with the Drury Duals on Thursday, November 16. SCSU opens conference duals with a December 1 trip to Minot State followed by the Huskies’ regular-season home opener on December 9 against MSU-Moorhead.

Jacks to wrestle Michigan in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State will face off against the University of Michigan in a wrestling dual at the Sanford Pentagon on Jan. 4, 2024.

Ticket information and game time will be announced later.

“I can’t emphasize enough how much of a must-see event this is going to be — not just for wrestling — but for any sport,” said Jesse Smith, vice president of Sanford Sports. “SDSU is coming off a record-breaking season last year, and Michigan is one of the top programs in the country with a roster of All-Americans.”

South Dakota State sent a program-record eight wrestlers to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships last season and placed 14th in the team standings for the program’s second-highest finish at the Division I level. The Jackrabbits completed their dual schedule with a 12-4 record. Head coach Damion Hahn enters his sixth season leading the Jackrabbits.

Dragon Wrestling Locks in 2023-24 Slate

MOORHEAD, Minn. — MSU Moorhead wrestling has solidified its schedule ahead of the winter 2023-24 season. The Dragons will host seven home duals throughout the year as well as its annual Dragon Open early in the season.

MSUM will begin its year with a pair of open tournaments, first at the Jimmie Open on November 4 and then at the DWU Open on November 11. The Dragons competed at both opens last season. The Kris Nelson-led squad will then host the University of Jamestown on November 16 to open the dual season. Following the battle with the Jimmies, MSUM will compete at the Younes Hospitality Open, hosted by Nebraska-Kearney on November 18. To close out the open slate, MSUM will host the annual Dragon Open on December 3 inside Nemzek Fieldhouse.

Minnesota Announces Full 2022-23 Slate

The regular season schedule will feature 15 duals and three tournaments, making it the largest competition slate for the Gophers since 2019-20

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota wrestling program announced their full 2022-23 schedule on Tuesday morning, as the season will officially kick off on Nov. 13, and feature six home duals inside Maturi Pavilion.

The full season slate will feature a total of 15 dual meets, which will be the most since the 2019-20 campaign, as well as three tournaments. Start times and TV streaming coverage for the upcoming season will be announced at a later date.

The season slate officially gets underway on November 12th when the Maroon & Gold travels to Fargo, N.D. to compete in the Bison Open, before kicking off the dual season at home on Nov. 20 inside Maturi Pavilion by hosting Binghamton for just the second meeting in program history between the two schools.

South Dakota State Schedule Finalized For 2022-23

The South Dakota State wrestling team will host eight home events, including duals against three programs that finished in the top 15 at last season’s NCAA Championships, during the upcoming 2022-23 season.

“This is one of the best home schedules we’ve ever had,” said SDSU head coach Damion Hahn, who is entering his fifth season with the Jackrabbits. “I’m really excited for the season and can’t wait to see our guys compete.”

The first two months of the season will consist of a mix of tournaments and dual meets, starting with a trip to the Bison Open in Fargo, North Dakota, on Nov. 12. The Jackrabbits are scheduled to host the Daktronics Open Nov. 20 before traveling to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 2-3) and the Soldier Salute tournament in Coralville, Iowa (Dec. 29-30) to close out the calendar year.

SDSU, 13-4 in duals a season ago with five returning NCAA qualifiers, kicks off the dual slate Nov. 18 versus Augustana. The Jackrabbits will then host a pair of regional Big Ten Conference opponents to wrap up the first half of the season, welcoming Minnesota to Frost Arena on Nov. 27 and Nebraska on Dec. 18. Nebraska finished fifth at the 2022 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, while Minnesota placed 11th.

Minnesota adds UNI Open to 2021-22 Schedule

The new addition to the upcoming slate will be one of four tournaments for Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota wrestling team will add another tournament to the 2021-22 slate, as the program announced Wednesday morning that the UNI Open has been added to the schedule for the upcoming season.

The UNI Open is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 11 inside the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The tournament will act as one of four tournaments for the Gophers this season.
