2021-22 Big Ten Wrestling Schedule Announced

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference office announced the dates and opponents for the 2021-22 wrestling season Wednesday. The schedule features eight conference duals for each of the 14 Big Ten programs and concludes with the 2022 Big Ten Wrestling Championships, to be held over the first weekend in March at Nebraska.

All 14 teams will open Big Ten action Jan. 7-17. On opening night, Jan. 7, reigning Big Ten Champion Iowa will play host to Minnesota, while Big Ten Dual Meet Co-Champion Penn State will travel to Maryland. Indiana will open its conference slate against Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J., Northwestern will visit Wisconsin, and Purdue will travel to Nebraska. The following weekend (Jan. 14-17), Illinois and Michigan will make their conference season debuts by traveling to Rutgers and Ohio State, respectively.

The final regular-season dual will take place Feb. 20, with Nebraska hosting the defending Big Ten Dual Meet Co-Champion Iowa.

St. Cloud State announces 2021-22 schedule

ST. CLOUD, MINN. – The St. Cloud State University wrestling team’s quest for a fourth consecutive national title begins in October. After a whirlwind 2020-21 season that ended in a national championship, the Huskies are ready to begin their title defense, as they announced their 2021-22 regular-season schedule Tuesday afternoon.

St. Cloud State’s schedule will look more traditional in 2021-22 after completing a conference-only schedule in 2021. As in past years, the Huskies will compete in several tournaments during the 2021-22 regular season, including the Finn Grinaker Open at MSU-Moorhead on Saturday, November 6. St. Cloud State will also compete in the Dakota Wesleyan Open, Carolina Clash Duals, and National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II National Duals in the first half of the regular season.

Bison Add Three Road Dates to Schedule

Home Dual With South Dakota State Moved to Feb. 7

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State’s 2020-21 wrestling schedule has been completed with the addition of three road dates and a few adjustments to the previously announced home slate.

NDSU will still open at home on Sunday, Jan. 3, but start times have been moved up to 10 a.m. against Oregon State and noon against Missouri to accommodate team travel schedules. The four-team event will feature two mats with South Dakota State also wrestling both opponents.

Jackrabbits Schedule Announced

The South Dakota State University wrestling team is slated to compete in six multi-team dual events before postseason competition as the Jackrabbits rolled out their long-awaited 2020-21 schedule Tuesday.

The season is scheduled to begin Jan. 3 with a pair of nonconference duals in what will be their first of two trips to Fargo, North Dakota. The Jackrabbits are slated to wrestle both Missouri and Oregon State.

Big 12 Conference rules implemented for the 2020-21 season allow teams only one competition date per week leading up the Big 12 Wrestling Championship; exact dates for the two-day event are expected to be finalized in early January. The Big 12 Championship will again serve as the qualifying tournament for the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships slated for March 18-20 in St. Louis, Missouri.

NDSU Announces Home Schedule for 2021 Season

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State wrestling team is scheduled to host dual meets against Missouri, Oregon State, Iowa State and South Dakota State this season.

The Bison will wrestle Missouri and Oregon State as part of a quadrangular event with South Dakota State beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, in the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex.

NDSU hosts Iowa State at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, and the annual Border Bell match with South Dakota State at noon Saturday, Feb. 20.

St. Cloud State schedule announced for 2020-21 season

The St. Cloud State University wrestling schedule has been posted for the upcoming 2020-21 season. The Huskies will get the season underway on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7:00 p.m. with the annual Black/Red Classic intrasquad exhibition match in Halenbeck Hall.

This match will serve as a warm-up for the 2020-21 regular season, which will feature six Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual matches. The Huskies have won nine consecutive NSIC championships and they will open league action on Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. with a dual match at the University of Mary.

NSIC Sets Viking Schedule with Six Competitions

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and Augustana University have announced a six-dual wrestling schedule for 2021.

The dual schedule has the Vikings competing three times at home inside the Elmen Center with three competitions on the road.

Augustana, entering its 18th season under the direction of former National Champion Jason Reitmeier, begins its season new NSIC associate member, Wisconsin-Parkside, on Jan. 7 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
