Thinking Globally – Skylar Little Soldier

Well before Hastings' junior Skylar Little Soldier knew there would be a state championship to be had at the Xcel Energy Center, Little Soldier had her sights set high. She wasn't thinking of dominating at the state level; she was thinking globally.

"Ever since I was a kid, I would tell my parents I was going to win an Olympic gold medal. That has always been the goal."

The seed was planted for her Olympic goal because of her little brother.

U.S. women claim wins six golds, 10 medals and team title at U17 Pan American Championships in Argentina

Hastings’ Skylar Little Soldier wins silver

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina – Led by six champions and 10 medalist, the United States cruised to the team title in women’s freestyle at the U17 Pan American Championships on Saturday.

The United States scored 225 team points, a full 101 points ahead of runner-up Brazil with 124 points. Mexico came in third with 115 points, among 11 nations in the field.

The United States was dominant all day, securing a 28-5 overall record in the 10 weight classes. Continue reading at teamusa.org →
