Canby will be hosting the Lancer Wrestling Extravaganza on Saturday, January 26th. Wrestling will be contested at three levels throughout the day – youth, high school, and college.

The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team will continue Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action with a road dual versus Northern State on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. and then will lock-up with No. 1 St. Cloud State in Canby, Minn. on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

SMSU wrestling falls to No. 19 Augustana by tiebreaker
MARSHALL, Minn. – No. 19 Augustana College (S.D.) rallied from a 18-9 deficit to win by tiebreaker over Southwest Minnesota State on Friday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference wrestling action.
SMSU looks to take down No. 19 Augustana in NSIC opener on Friday
The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team looks to take down No. 19 Augustana Vikings in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opener set for Friday, Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. at the PE Gym in Marshall. The Mustangs will look to avenge its 20-15 loss to Augustana in Sioux Falls last season. SMSU hasn’t defeated Augustana since the 1998-99 season as the Vikings are currently riding a 12 dual match winning streak over the Mustangs.

SMSU wrestling goes 3-1 at Tracy Borah duals
GUNNISON, Colo. – Southwest Minnesota State rebounded from its first dual loss of the season with wins in its final three bouts at the Tracy Borah duals. SMSU is now 10-1 on the season in dual matches – matching last season’s total.
SMSU used a 28-15 victory over California Baptist and 25-18 victory over Colorado State-Pueblo before defeating Western State Colorado 19-17 on Saturday. SMSU lost earlier in the day to No. 14 Colorado Mesa 32-9.
Mustangs head to 23rd annual Tracy Borah duals in Gunnison, Colo.
After nearly a month hiatus due to the holiday break, the Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team will get back to action on Saturday, Jan. 12 in Gunnison, Colorado at the 23rd annual Tracy Borah Duals. The Mustangs will take part in four duals versus Colorado Mesa, California Baptist, Western State (Colo.) and Colorado State – Pueblo. SMSU is a perfect 7-0 in dual matches this season.

WILLMAR, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team extended its perfect season record in dual matches to 7-0 with three wins over Ridgewater Community College, Itasca Community College and St. John’s over the weekend.
