BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana is ranked third in the 2011-12 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll released Friday by the conference office. The Vikings, who are the defending conference champions, collected 44 points in the poll.

SMSU picked eighth in NSIC preseason wrestling poll

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University wrestling team was picked to finish eighth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. St. Cloud State, ranked No. 1 in the country, was picked to win the league earning 55 points.

St. Cloud State tops Division II preseason rankings

EDMOND, Okla. — St. Cloud State (Minn.) enters the 2011-12 season as the No. 1 team in NCAA Division II wrestling, according to the preseason poll released by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association Wednesday.

The Huskies, coming off a best-ever runner-up finish in last year’s national tournament, received four of the eight first-place votes cast in balloting of coaches from around the country and finished with 153 points in earning the favorite’s tag.

Sundgren Named SCSU Male Athlete of the Year

St. Cloud, Minn. – St. Cloud State University’s Director of Athletics Dr. Morris Kurtz has announced that senior wrestler John Sundgren (Blaine/Blaine H.S.) and senior women’s basketball player Talisha Barlow (Little Canada/Roseville H.S.) have been selected as the University’s 2010-11 Male Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year, respectively.
