SCSU Enters Post-Season Ranked #1 in Nation

EDMOND, Okla. — St. Cloud State will head into regional tournament action as the unanimous No. 1 team in NCAA Division II wrestling, according to the top-20 poll released Wednesday by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Huskies received all eight first-place votes in balloting of coaches from around the country to finish with 160 points. SCSU, which finished a school-record 20-0 in duals, has been No. 1 in five of the six polls this season.

Huskies host 2012 NCAA Division II Super Region 3 tournament on Sunday

The #1 ranked Huskies (21-0, 7-0- NSIC) will host the 2012 NCAA Division II Super Region 3 tournament on Feb. 26 at Halenbeck Hall in St. Cloud. The action gets under way at 10 a.m. and the finals are slated to start at 7:30 p.m. that evening. The top 4 placers at the regional in each weight bracket advance to the NCAA finals in Pueblo, Colo. on March 9-10. Tickets are available at the gate ($10 adults/$5 SCSU students and children ages 2-17/under age two free). #1 SCSU completes perfect season with win at MSU

The #1 St. Cloud State University wrestling team completed its perfect dual match season on Feb. 16 with a big 31-6 win at Minnesota State University in Mankato. The victory moved SCSU’s record to 21-0, 7-0 NSIC on the season.

The match was SCSU’s final dual match of the 2011-12 campaign and it also marks the first time in team history (since 1949-50) that the Huskies have finished with a perfect dual match season record.

#1 St. Cloud State Wrestling Complete Regular Season at MSU on Feb. 16

The #1 ranked St. Cloud State Huskies (20-0, 6-0- NSIC) will complete the regular season on Feb. 16 with a 7 p.m. dual match at Minnesota State University in Mankato, Minn. This will mark the end of the NSIC dual season for the Huskies and a victory at MSU would provide the Huskies with the regular season title in the NSIC. This would be SCSU first regular season conference title for the Huskies since 1977-78.

St. Cloud State Maintains Top Ranking in Latest DII Poll

EDMOND, Okla. — St. Cloud State (Minn.) stayed atop the NCAA Division II wrestling rankings as the unanimous choice in the top-20 poll that was released Wednesday by the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association.

The Huskies received all eight first-place votes in balloting of coaches from around the country to finish with 160 points. SCSU, a perfect 19-0 in duals, has been No. 1 in four of the five polls this season.
