Ridgways record pins, wrestling wins first home dual
NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The St. Olaf College wrestling team got pins from sophomore Jack Ridgway and senior Bryant Ridgway on its way to a 45-12 victory over visiting Waldorf University in its first home dual of the season on Thursday evening at Skoglund Center.
The pins from the Ridgway brothers highlighted the dual victory for St. Olaf, which also got a win by decision from senior Luke Wallace, in addition to five forfeits. Arie Reyes and Marcus McGinley recorded pins for Waldorf in the loss. Continue reading
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Sophomore Jack Ridgway placed fifth at 149 pounds to lead the St. Olaf College wrestling team’s performances as the Oles finished 11th at the MSOE Invitational on Saturday.
Ridgway advanced to the quarterfinals with a 3-0 decision over Chip Hansen of MSOE before dropping a 9-4 decision to Brandon Lenczer of UW-Oshkosh. In the consolation bracket, he pinned Quinn Hoopman of Concordia (Wis.) at 3:48 and won by tech fall, 16-0, against Yared Ansera of Chicago to advance to the semifinals.
In the semis, Ridgway was topped by decision, 8-1, by UW-Platteville’s Garrett Ruckdashel, but the junior rebounded by pinning Ben Black of Wheaton (Ill.) at 2:34 in the fifth-place match to earn St. Olaf 13.5 points in the team standings. Continue reading

Wartburg College (IA) holds the No. 1 position in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III dual meet team ranking.
With a 2-0 record at this time, Wartburg is ahead of three teams which all currently have 1-0 dual meet records: No. 2 Loras College (IA), No. 3 Augsburg University (MN), No. 4 Wabash College (IN). Coming in at No. 5 is Johnson & Wales University (RI), with a 4-1 record.
Also released is the most recent individual rankings. The only school with two No. 1 ranked individuals is Mount Union, with Jordin James (141) and Antwon Pugh (157). Continue reading
Augsburg dominates in 57-0 win over St. Olaf
MINNEAPOLIS — Winning five bouts by bonus-point margins and taking advantage of five forfeits in a match that took just 31 minutes to complete, the Augsburg University men’s wrestling team scored a 57-0 dual-meet victory over St. Olaf College on Tuesday evening at Si Melby Hall.
The No. 5-ranked team in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III national rankings, the Auggies claimed three pins, a technical fall and a major decision in its five bout victories. In the five bouts wrestled, Augsburg claimed a 42-1 advantage in points. Continue reading
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Five members of the St. Olaf College wrestling team began their seasons at the Auggie-Adidas Open on Saturday at Si Melby Hall on the campus of Augsburg University.
Seniors Luke Wallace and Bryant Ridgway competed in the gold brackets at 133 and 157 pounds, respectively, while sophomore Jack Ridgway and first-year Kris Kurtz were in action in the silver brackets at 149 and 184 pounds. Manheim, PA – The latest 2019-2020 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III team and individual rankings compiled by the ranking committee on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
Freshmen and transfers have been included in the individual rankings. Since many NCAA Division III wrestling programs have not competed at this point of the season, this team ranking is based on a tournament point system based on where individuals are ranked. The next team ranking to be released later this month will reflect a dual meet team ranking. Continue reading
