Members of the four 2011 Minnesota State Tournament team champions – Frazee, Jackson County Central, Simley, and Apple Valley met with Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton today.
Governor Dayton posed for photos with the teams and presented each team with a plaque honoring their acheivement. The Governor shared some of his athletic experiences as a hockey player and his memories of the wrestlers he knew from his high school days. In all, the Governor spent about a half-hour with the teams.
The teams were also given the opportunity to take a guided tour of the State Capitol.
The event was organized with help from National Wrestling Coaches Association representatives Randy Cirksena (Midwest Regional Rep.) and Paul Mann (Minnesota Rep.).
